Register your objection to Bucks Council selling our Green Belt land
Conservative-controlled Buckinghamshire Council is proposing to sell hundreds of acres of Green Belt in South Bucks, which have been held in trust for the last 85 years. The area is between Uxbridge and Iver and is part of the Colne Valley Regional Park.
This action flies in the face of the Conservatives' pledge to protect the green belt. In addition, there has yet to be any public engagement or consultation with residents and the notice of sale was published in a newspaper outside the county. This land was originally purchased to maintain the separation of Uxbridge and Iver and to improve the amenities of the local area. South Bucks Lib Dems believe it should still be used for that purpose rather than sold for development.
We implore all residents to register their objections to this sale either by:

To the Secretary of State for Levelling-Up, Housing and Communities,
We, the undersigned, object to the disposal of land and buildings at Round Coppice Estate and Mansfield Farm, Iver, Buckinghamshire, as proposed by Buckinghamshire Council.
The land was purchased in the 1930’s to maintain in perpetuity the separation of the urban area of Uxbridge and Iver. Disposing of it for development would breach the Green Belt around London at one of its narrowest points. The original purchase was made with taxes raised from local residents to enhance the area’s amenities for residents.
The disposal of this land appears to be in contravention of the Green Belt (London and Home Counties) Act 1938 and there has been no engagement or consultation with residents. The Secretary of State should refuse the application or hold an inquiry before a decision is made. If, following a suitable inquiry, the Secretary agrees to the disposal, then all proceeds received by Buckinghamshire Council should be allocated to benefit local residents directly affected by the disposal.
