AGM for Buckinghamshire South Liberal Democrats (Beaconsfield Constituency)

November 21, 2019 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Burnham Football Stadium, Wymers Wood Road, Burnham, SL1 8JG,

Our AGM combines the legal requirement to elect new officers and committee, with interesting speakers, and a chance for everyone to have a say. This is especially relavent with the general election campaign.

The speakers are Baron Fox and our Parliamentary candidate, Rob Castell.

Chris Fox

Chris Fox - Baron Fox - was Chief Executive of the Liberal Democrats in 2010/11. He joined the House of Lords in 2014 and is a member of the Lords Science and Technology Committee. He was Liberal Democrat Spokesperson on Business and Industrial Strategy until Chuka Umunna succeeded him in June.

Rob speaking

Rob Castell is our parliamentary candidate selected this year. He is an actor, song and travel writer. He says he has strong principles without mindless ideology, and he is already making a difference to the local party.

The current officers will present reports on the year's activities, and all the changes occurring in the local party. One of these is the name change on social media to Buckinghamshire South Liberal Democrats. Should this be formalised?

The local party officers will elected.be If you would like to stand for any of these positions or discover what is involved, please get in contact.

The executive committee will be elected and should ideally represent all wards of the constituency so that we can organise our campaign more effectively. Please get in contact saying which ward or village you are in.

The evening will close with a discussion session - probably mentioning the General Election.

Please get in touch to suggestion discussion topics.
